About the event
Join Veteran Sailing for an unforgettable afternoon underway aboard a Catalina Capri 22. Led by an experienced Veteran Sailing skipper, this hands-on sail is built around teamwork, communication, and shared responsibility on the water.
Whether you're brand new to sailing or ready to sharpen your skills, you’ll actively serve as crew—trimming sails, taking the helm, managing lines, and learning the fundamentals of small-keelboat sailing. Every role matters, and every participant contributes to how the boat performs as you sail past downtown San Diego, the Coronado Bridge, and across the open bay.
Expect clear instruction, coordinated maneuvers, and a supportive, mission-focused atmosphere where veterans work together toward a common objective: sailing the boat well. This small-group experience is designed to build confidence, strengthen camaraderie, and reinforce the power of operating as a team.
Step aboard. Take your position. Sail as one crew.
