About the event
Join Veteran Sailing for an extended, mission-driven experience underway aboard our Beneteau 30.1. Led by an experienced Veteran Sailing skipper, this advanced sail is built around seamanship, leadership, and coordinated execution over a longer operational window on the water.
Unlike our Discovery events, Mission Sailing is objective-based. Depending on conditions, the crew may execute a coastal passage to Mission Bay and back, complete a point-to-point transit, or adapt to real-time wind, tide, and navigational challenges. The route is not the focus — disciplined teamwork and mission accomplishment are.
Participants will rotate through helm, primary and secondary sail trim, navigation, lookout, and deck operations. You’ll brief the plan, communicate clearly during maneuvers, adjust sail strategy as conditions evolve, and operate the vessel as a unified crew. Every decision impacts boat speed, safety, and overall performance.
Expect longer time underway, higher expectations of individual competence, and a professional, team-centered atmosphere. Mission Sailing…
